Dr McGaughey has been a GP Partner in Ayrshire for the past 12 years having completed his medical degree in 2002 at University of Glasgow. He went on to work in A&E as well as Obstetric and Gynaecology and undertook his medical training rotation achieving his MRCP( Glas) before moving into General practice.
Following his MRCGP and DFSRH completion in 2008 he worked as a GP in the West of Scotland for 2 years and as a GP in New Zealand for a further year before settling in Ayrshire for the past 12 years.
He is passionate about patient centred preventative medicine and specialises in:
- 360° health assessments
- Steroid joint injections
- Mole and skin checks
He can generally be found in or on the water, often with his kids during his spare time.
He is unable to refer to NHS services but with your agreement can arrange further treatment or investigations in the private sector or provide a written document to take to your own GP.
